Rachel Niknam, M.D.
Rachel Niknam M.D. is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her area of special interest is medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataract.
Education
Dr. Niknam is a 1997 graduate of Yeshiva University. She received her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 2002. She completed her internship year at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and then completed her ophthalmology residency at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital in 2006. Dr. Niknam then went on to do a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania – Scheie Eye Institute.
Experience
Dr. Niknam is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. She is a member of the Glaucoma Service at Will’s Eye Hospital. She is Associate Professor at Jefferson Medical College, and maintains hospital affiliation at the Main Line Surgery Center in Bala Cynwyd. Dr. Niknam performs glaucoma surgery as well as state-of-the-art laser assisted cataract surgery.
